Become a Ballard House Volunteers & Ambassadors

The Ballard House relies on community partners and volunteers to support its mission and maintain its facilities. To become a volunteer with The Ballard House Project, individuals are required to attend a scheduled orientation and training class. During this orientation, prospective volunteers will receive an introduction to a specific volunteer role. If approved, volunteers will be presented with the organization’s code of conduct, outlining the expected behavior and responsibilities of volunteers.

The organization places importance on measuring the commitment level of potential volunteers, ensuring that they are genuinely interested in contributing their time and effort to support The Ballard House Project’s initiatives. Volunteers and Volunteer Ambassadors are also evaluated based on their availability, as the organization may require a specific time commitment or regular availability to maintain consistency in its programs and services.

Moreover, The Ballard House assesses the skills and qualifications of prospective volunteers to ensure they match the needs of the volunteer position. Depending on the role, certain skills or qualifications may be necessary, and the organization seeks individuals who can effectively meet the requirements of their designated responsibilities.

By implementing these measures, The Ballard House Project aims to create a team of dedicated and well-prepared volunteers who share a common goal of preserving the organization’s walls and furthering its programming and research mission. This process helps ensure that volunteers are equipped to make a meaningful impact and provide valuable support to The Ballard House Project.
